Bethesda Health Clinic CEO/Medical Director

Dr. John English, M.D.

Dr. John English, a native of Longview, Texas is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has been practicing medicine since 1993.  Prior to becoming the Medical Director of Bethesda Health Clinic, he practiced medicine at Trinity Clinic in Tyler, Texas.  John holds a M.D. degree from U.T. Southwestern Medical School.  He completed his residency at John Peter Smith Hospital.  John is married to Dr. Grace English, M.D., who worked as the volunteer medical director to take Bethesda from a concept to a fully operational clinic. As medical professionals, John and Grace are committed to serve the Lord in the area of medicine. John and Grace are blessed with three children. 

Bethesda Dental Services Program

David Nichols, DDS

Dr. David Nichols, a native of Atlanta, Texas, has been practicing dentistry since 1970.  David’s passion for serving others is the driving force behind the Dental Services program at Bethesda Clinic. David holds a DDS degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry.  He is the founder and Director of Tejas Missions, a ministry that provides medical and dental care in Belize and Guatemala.  David and his wife Julie are blessed with one daughter, a son-in-law and three grandchildren.

Bethesda Collaborative Care Network

Dr. Tom Lowrey, M.D.

Dr. Lowrey, who hails from Cumberland, Maryland, is board certified by The American Board of Internal Medicine and has been practicing medicine since 1974, when he founded Tyler Nephrology Associates. Tom’s commitment to provide preventative health care services to the working uninsured is underscored by his active participation in the development and execution of Bethesda’s Collaborative Care Network. Currently, Tom is leading the effort to unite this informal network of local physicians and medical facilities into a successful operational model. Tom attended Duke University, received a M.D. degree from Baylor College of Medicine, and completed a Nephrology fellowship at the University of Alabama. Tom and his wife June are blessed with one son.
